The I Need A concept was created in 2017, originally as a stand alone warez site called I Need A Match. It then continued to grow as the creator wanted to experiment with other types of website development.
In late 2017 the developer created the Link Shortener as part of efforts to track what links from social media was clicked. It used API's which could be read by RSS feeds and generated URL's based on the link inputted from the RSS feed.
In early 2018 the I Need A Download website was created to help combat the closure of accounts associated on 3rd party file hosts. While it does follow DMCA, it doens't close accounts to prevent 100's of downloads been removed.
The I Need A concept will continue to grow as there's ideas of Premium Link Generators as well as other side projects in developement.
Also in efforts to recoup costs of the I Need A concept, the developer is hopeful to offer services more legally such as Seedbox's and hosting plans.
Adf.ly is another link shortening service which also offers pop advertisements. The I Need A concept uses this service for pop advertisements to generate some money for it's projects on top of Shorte.st
The Link Shortener is the second project of the I Need A concept and uses the I Need A Match domain to create short links. While it is a public project and anyone can create new links, there's no registration or statistic trackers for private links.
The Shortener however does have working API's which I Need A's social networks use for links.
